I had a heart wrenching day at work. An unfortunate event happened and I had to interact and deal with the situation all day. Today a little boy drown at the Oceanfront in Virginia Beach, the body has not yet surfaced. This happened outside my hotel and we held the 18 family members in our banquet room. We gave them blankets, shelter, beverages and anything they asked for. Also A local man eating in our restaurant bought the family 18 meals. They couldn’t have been more grateful, but there is a loss in their eyes and nothing we could give them could heal that emptiness. I almost lost it when the mother came to me and showed me a picture she took of her son before church this morning, she asked me to print it because it was his last picture taken. I feel so terrible for this family, all of them are so shaken up and you can tell they don’t know what to feel. When I left work at 11 the family was still upstairs just waiting to hear news of the body surfacing. I hope the best for each and every one of the Copeland family members
